Energy Institute HS participates in HISD's one to one Chromebook initiative. Energy Institute High School students cannot opt out of receiving a Chromebook.
Students must comply with the Student Laptop Loan Agreement and the EIHS Laptop Acceptable Use Policy.

MAJOR NON-NEGOTIALES STUDENT'S LAPTOP EXPECTATIONS

  • Each student must have their Chromebook with them daily.
  • A student must come to school with their Chromebook fully charged.
  • A student must prevent Chromebook damage.
  • A student must prevent Chromebook loss/theft.
    **Please read the EIHS Chromebook Loan Agreement for more details on the Chromebook non-negotiable(s).

SAVING YOUR FILES
It is important students save their files to a cloud system to ensure all files are backed up securely. During certain repairs, Chromebooks may have to be powerwashed, and Chromebooks are powerwashed each summer. Students can save files to a flash drive, upload them to One Drive or Google drive. EIHS recommends that ALL students use the HISD OneDrive for saving and backing up documents. For instructions on how to save to the OneDrive. Click here


 

Chromebook Deployment

2025-2026 Deployment

Chromebooks for all students (grades 9-12) will be issued during the first week of school through a student's cohort (for 9th, 10th and 11th) and through PBL Skills for seniors. 

REQUIRED LAPTOP FORMS
A Chromebook will be LOANED to all Energy students for the 2025-2026 school year. To receive a Chromebook, students must have returned their Chromebook from the prior year (including summer dual credit students) and must complete the HISD Agreement and Energy Laptop Loan Agreement. 

1. HISD Student Device Loan Agreement

Parents must go into HISD Connect, open the forms and complete the Student Device Loan Agreement. 

  • Log into the HISD Connect Parent Portal
  • Select the correct student from the top ribbon
  • Click on forms on the left hand navigation
  • Open and complete the Student Device Loan Agreement. 
  • The form will be signed by both the parent/guardian and the student.

2. Energy Chromebook Loan Agreement

This document will be passed out to students the first day of school.

The Energy loan agreement should be printed, completed, and signed by the student and parent prior to Chromebook deployment. Completed forms will be brought to school by the student to turn in during Chromebook deployment.

Students and parents may be held responsible for the cost of replacement of a lost or stolen device or accessories or for damage due to purposeful action or gross negligence. 

Energy Institute HS is committed to HISD’s One to One iniative, and therefore, expects all students to receive a laptop from Houston ISD. Energy Institute High School students cannot opt out of the One to One Initiative. Personal laptops and devices are not allowed to be used in class or on campus.

Students must comply with the Student Laptop Loan Agreement and the EIHS Laptop Acceptable Use Policy.
